【国旗下讲话】我对《英语周报》上一篇文章的看法
老师们、同学们:早上好!
我是初一10班的胡茗嘉。我今天讲话的主题是:我对《英语周报》上一篇文章的看法。
同学们都知道,《英语周报》上的很多文章对于我们学习英语很有帮助,尤其是一些作文范文中关于句子结构和连接词使用的建议很实用、很有价值,但是有些文章的内容我却不敢恭维,比如,有一篇关于“保护地球”的文章。

既然是谈“保护地球”,文章所陈述的事实不仅应该真实,而且应该接近我们的生活。但作者在谈空气污染时说:“人们燃烧了太多的东西,路上有越来越多的汽车。”这句话是什么意思?是告诉我们不要烧东西还是不要开车?虽然我们知道真相,但我们能做些什么来改变事实呢?在中学这个年龄阶段,我们又能对这种污染做出什么有影响的措施呢?告诉学生们“我们应该停止燃烧太多的东西。”未免有些荒谬。
同样地,文章告诉我们“工厂把废水排入大海”也是没有用的。"我们都读七年级了,我们不可能不知道。但是,在我们知道之后,我们还能做些什么呢?我们能帮助工厂清理废水吗?至少我觉得我做不到。
接下来,文章告诉我们从小事做起,保护地球,但我没有从文中学到如何“从小事做起”,除了“乘公交车或地铁”和“把垃圾扔进垃圾桶”,这两种对学生来说是可行的建议根本达不到作者写这篇文章的目的——告诉我们如何保护地球。
为了“从小事做起,保护地球”,我们不仅应该把以上两个建议落实到生活中,还要节约用水,垃圾分类,节约纸张和节约用电等。“从小事做起”,例如,洗脸后用洗脸水浇花或冲厕所;利用作业本或练习本剩下的纸张来打草稿,离开房间时关掉电器。保护地球,我们不应该只纸上谈兵。 同时,建议《英语周报》的编辑们选择一些符合我们初中生特点的文章。 ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
让我们再一次大声告诉自己:“Protecting the Earth is everyone's responsibility,we should try our best to protect our only home.”

Dear teachers and classmates:
Good morning.?I am Hu Mingjia from Class 10 Grade 7. The topic of my speech today is my opinion on an article in the English Weekly.
Firstly,we?all know that many articles in the English Weekly are very helpful for us to learn English, especially some of the suggestions on sentence structures?and the use of conjunctions in essay samples are very practical and valuable. However, I cannot praise some of the content of the articles, such as an article about "protecting the Earth".
Since it is about "protecting the Earth", the facts stated in the article should not only be true, but also be close to our lives. But what does the author mean when talking about air pollution: "People burn too many things?and there are more and more cars on the road."? Are you telling us not to burn things or not to drive? Although we know the truth, what can we do to change it? At the age of middle school, what measures can we take to have an impact on this kind of pollution? It's somewhat absurd to tell students, "We should stop burning too many things."
Similarly, the article tells us that "factories put?waste?water into the sea" is also useless. We are all in seventh grade now, and we can't possibly not know. But after we know?about that, what else can we do? Can we help the factory clean up wastewater? At least I don't think I can do that.
Next, the article tells us to start from small things and protect the Earth, but I haven't learned how to "start from small things" from the article. Apart from "taking the bus or subway" and "throwing garbage into the trash can", these two feasible suggestions for students simply do not meet the author's purpose of writing this article - to tell us how to protect the Earth.
In order to start from small things and protect the earth, we should not only implement the above two suggestions in our daily lives, but also try to save water?and electricity ,sort the rubbish, reusing the paper. Start with small things, such as watering flowers with facial wash or cleaning the toilet after washing your face; use the remaining paper from your homework or exercise book to draft, and turn off the electric facilities?when leaving the room. Protecting the Earth, we should not just talk about it on paper. Meanwhile, it is recommended that the editors of English Weekly choose articles that are suitable for the characteristics of our junior high school students.
Let's once again loudly tell ourselves, "Protecting the Earth is everyone's responsibility, we should try our best to protect our only home."
